Frequently asked questions.
I’m brand new to yoga, where should I start?
Welcome! Don’t worry because all of our classes are suitable for all skill levels. We encourage you to do what you feel - no judgement. We all have to start somewhere. That said… we do have a beginners class each Wednesday at 8 so it could be the ideal place to dip you toe. But any class is suitable, we promise! All mobile phones to be switched off before entering studio space.
What should I wear?
Any comfortable clothing you can move freely in works for us. The studios are all shoe free zones, and all classes are done barefoot, or with special exercise socks.
Do I need my own mat?
Nope. All mats and props (blocks, straps etc) are provided. Please wipe-clean the studio mat after use (spray bottles and wiping cloths are provided). If you’re a Hum regular with your own mat, feel free to store it at the studio.
Do I need to book in advance?
Best to book online (online bookings take priority over walk-ins). If there is space in the class (there usually is for weekday daytime classes), we’ll slot you in :)
What is your class cancellation policy?
We know things happen, and we try to be as flexible as possible…
– no-shows/late cancellations will incur a charge of £20 (this must be paid before new bookings can be made)
– Any cancellations need to be made prior to the cancellation window (minimum 3hrs before class start time).
– Please try to arrive on time (or call to let us know if running late) as the door gets locked, and if the class is full, we may give your spot away to someone waiting if you are not there on time.
What if I’m late for my class?
It happens! Unfortunately we can’t accommodate latecomers because the studio door is often locked at the start of the session so that people can settle in without interruption. Try to arrive 5 minutes before class starts so you can check-in, store your shoes and get settled on your mat with any equipment you may need.
If you know you won’t make a class, try to cancel because unfortunately if you’ve booked a class and do not arrive on time, you might not be let in (instructors discretion), and you won’t receive a refund.
What if I accidentally leave something at the studio?
We do have a lost and found, and all items left behind will be stored in there. Please contact us via email or our social channels if you think you might have left something at the studio. Items will be kept for a month, with anything unclaimed donated to a local charity after 1 month.
